Before going into an in-depth review of our Sofitel Sentosa staycation, let’s go through a quick history of this resort.
Background – Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort
Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort and Spa is your dream place to be to avoid the hustling crowds and giant skyscrapers.
The stunning resort and spa is located near the south china sea and is surrounded by a garden paradise.
This stunning property has a proud history that can be traced back to the country’s early days of modern tourism.
Built in the 1930s, the place was known as Beaufort hotel, a signature hotel that gives the feel of the original colonial era.
In 2014, the property was purchased by the Royal group development. And is rebranded and renovated as a team effort of Accor and the Royal group development.

After reopening in 2015, the hotel is now known as Sofitel Singapore Resort & Spa.
With this rebranding, they created a blend of colonial charm and modern french inspired artsy.
Today, it remains one of Asia’s most popular and prestigious hotels, renowned for its perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and breathtaking ocean views.
Whether you’re looking for a relaxing beach vacation with your family, a hideout for your honeymoon, or an upscale business trip, this stylish hotel will surely exceed your expectations.
Where is Sofitel Sentosa Resort Located?

This spectacular Resort and Spa are located at 2 Bukit Manis Road, Sentosa Island.

The moment we reached the location, we were amazed by the greenery and the well-designed architecture of the resort.
Without a doubt, this Resort and Spa is the perfect getaway to escape city life’s stresses.
Surrounded by beautiful beaches and bustling entertainment hubs, the resort is a refuge from the hustle and bustle of urban living, offering everything one could need for rest and relaxation.

Whether you want to spend time outdoors amidst lush greenery or lounge by the beach, the resort truly has it all.
Booking Process

The booking process was quite smooth, and we found three check-in counters opened simultaneously due to the high volume of visitors checking in and out.

Oh yeah, that was during a short school holiday; plenty of families got a short staycation. With three check-in counters opening, my waiting time is only 7 minutes.
Impressive!
Lobby
Grande.

That’s the word to describe the lobby of Sofitel Sentosa Singapore.
As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a gorgeous lobby with a colorful inlaid marble floor and lavish flowers.
The lobby has a touch of eccentric décor with luxury. The main focal point of this style is the purplish abstract tentacle-like chandelier in the top center of the lobby area.
Concierge Table with a schedule of Shuttle bus
Still, within the lobby area, the concierge team is very approachable and provides us with information about the activities we should do during our two-night stay.
While the drawback of a Sentosa staycation is its accessibility, the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa resort does not make things any simpler.
In addition to peacefulness and an “out of Singapore” atmosphere, connectivity is also enabled.

The hotel provides complimentary shuttle service in both directions from Vivocity, with pick-up and drop-off at Harbourfront MRT Exit D.
The shuttle operates from 7:45 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Without a pause for lunch or dinner, a bus departs every 30 minutes.
This makes it ideal for both tourists and guests on staycations.
You may visit Vivo City for more food, shopping options, and other attractions on the island.
Rooms & Suites
On our way to the room, that Balinese feeling hit us hard! The open-air corridor design adds a resort feel. Sofitel Sentosa successfully instilled the resort vibe into us.

Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa features 215 distinct rooms and suites across eight categories.
Families can take advantage of the resort’s 28 Luxury rooms which can be merged, while all room types come complete with a bathtub.

However, their four extraordinary Villa du Jardin are the show-stopping attractions at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa. These 2-bedroom villas provide guests with privacy and their private pool and deck – making them perfect for an intimate getaway.
Our Rooms
We booked for two nights at Luxury Room (King Bed) with a pretty spacious size at 36sqm.; our room is on level 3 of Peace Wing.

It was a nice short walk from the lobby and had the same level as the main buildings.

This Luxury Room comes with a king-size bed with ample space and other amenities such as a LED Smart TV, digital newspapers and magazines, WiFi access, and PowerPoint/USB ports next to the writing desk for easy charging your devices.

Every room also has a minibar capsule-like cabinet with a sleek design that you can use up to your requirements.

The bathroom has a separate dry and wet area with high-end fixtures and amenities such as marble countertops and rainfall showerheads.
The addition of mosaic tiles is a nice touch as well.
Facilities

The environment is away from the noise and bustle, allowing you to enjoy the rich greenery and plentiful species (peacocks wander freely) and complete privacy.
Pool
We were excited to jump into the 33-meter-long pool with depths as deep as 2.5 meters, play with floaties, lounge on the sun bits, and chill at the bar.

With a designated water area for kids and a lifeguard on board, families had peace of mind to bring their kids to enjoy the beautiful pool together.

After a quick dipping session, I ordered a mojito from a stand-by pool bar staff; I took about 15 minutes to get my drink. The drink was so fresh, and we have no complaints!
We chatted about looking at The Cliff restaurant next to the pool, which offers breathtaking views of south Singapore, while having a lazy lunch. We’ll cover it soon in this blog post.
Pet Friendly
We saw many dogs walk freely in most areas of the hotel. The staffs were also friendly to the dogs. Even Kwee Zeen restaurant allows pets to an outdoor sitting. We heard some positive feedback from the guests that the hotel staff even remembered their dog’s name.

That’s awesome! Sofitel Sentosa Resort keeps its promise and standard with its “pet-friendly” offerings.
Don’t miss it; you can book the hotel via our favorite hotel booking platform. It comes with Best Price Guarantee; if you find a lower price elsewhere, they will match it or beat it.
Fitness Centre

The So Fit gym is located within a garden in a glass house covered with vines giving it a gym in the resort garden ambiance. The gym has all cardio machines, free weights, and resistance machines.
No bookings are required as they operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is usually not too crowded and perfect for a quick workout when you are at the resort.
Restaurants & Food
The three in-house restaurants to the resort are Kwee Zeen, the Cliff, and LeBar every restaurant has its unique style, interior, and delicious food options from around the world.
Kwee Zeen

Kwee Zeen restaurant provides an unforgettable experience for all occasions, focusing on destination dining. With cuisine from all over Asia, the West, and France, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Kwee Zeen is your breakfast restaurant as well. Expect a crowd if you come beyond 8:30 am, but don’t worry, they have so many seating places, guaranteed you will get one.
We sat at the outside seating spot to admire the greeneries and peacocks walking around.

Remember, don’t feed them with human food.
The Cliff

The Cliff is your place if you want an authentic Italian dining experience. Their dishes are made with fresh produce and flavors, and their menu features various handmade pizzas, pasta, and other favorites. They also have an impressive array of wines that would go great with your meal.
Because it is so close to the pool, you can chill with a view. They have a dedicated bar outside for light cocktail drinks.
We found some function halls for private dining that can be held in this restaurant. Imagine having a diner with a view of the Southern Ocean views. Mamma Mia!
LeBar

If you’re looking to have a good time with close friends while enjoying drinks and appetizers, LeBar’s outdoor pavilion lounge is perfect for you.
Offerings include bespoke cocktails and luxurious high teas served in a comfortable environment.
Surroundings

We spent our 2nd day at Tanjong beach near the hotel.
Direct access with a designated walkway from the hill to the beach exists. It took us only 8 minutes on the walk.
This is another advantage of staying in this property.

This beach also appeals to families with young children because it offers a variety of opportunities for play, including frisbee games and sandcastle building.
We noticed some of the beach volleyball games are also held here.

A few blocks from the sickle-shaped Tanjong Beach, it has a beach bar/club called the Tanjong Beach Club, where guests can unwind while enjoying cocktails and other drinks while listening to music.
