7. Pulau Ubin

Take a challenge and take a boat to Pulau Ubin to see the sunrise!

The first boat leaves at 6 AM, and the voyage is only around 10 minutes long.

That gives you plenty of time to walk over to one of the beaches, find a good spot, and see the first rays of light at Kampong Island.

After that, you’re free to explore for the rest of the day.

A ten-minute bumboat ride from Changi Point Ferry Terminal costs about $3 and takes you to Pulau Ubin — a small island where kampungs still exist.

The ideal place to see the dawn in this area is along the sandy beaches, the closest of which is only a 5-minute walk from the jetty.

Make sure to slather on insect repellent and bring your flashlight since it may get quite dark in the early hours.

Consider taking the earliest ferry voyage at 5.30 AM to allow adequate time to acclimate to the location before catching a glimpse of the dawn.

It’s slightly more difficult to capture the sunset from here.

Unless you’re ready to spend $36 for the entire return boat or intend to stay overnight, you cannot remain on the island until sunset.

The final ferry departs at 6 PM, an hour too early to see the skies in transition.

However, if you’re traveling with a large party, you can arrange your preferred departure time with the boat operator.

North Area

1. Yishun Dam

You may or may not want to join other couples in Singapore for an outdoor date at dusk, but seeing the sunrise here is always an excellent idea.

Make your way to this dam in the northern portion of the island for a lovely way to start or end the day.

You should know that driving is the best way to get here.
